What is RadioReady.io?

RadioReady.io is a free, high quality online audio mastering service that's fast and easy to use. It works like this: simply upload your audio track, click the "Process" button, and get the mastered version of your track in minutes.

What is audio mastering?

Audio mastering is the final step in audio production. Once you have a mix you like, mastering ensures that the audio file will sound good on most playback devices. It's like Photoshop for image files, but instead of enhancing images, it improves the overall sound quality of an audio track.

Who is behind RadioReady.io?

I'm Rettward von Doernberg and I developed RadioReady.io because I want to help independent musicians and radio/podcast producers get better audio quality for their releases.

How did it come about?

The best source of interesting music for me right now is Bandcamp. However, the audio quality of the available tracks often left a lot to be desired. I would always put them through my own processing chain to improve the sound.

Doesn't something like RadioReady.io already exist?

Yes, there are plenty of online mastering services out there, but most require you to create an account and the free versions are limited such as with track counts. Even as someone with experience mastering, I often find the options overwhelming! Imagine what it must it be like for someone with limited experience!

Can RadioReady.io replace a professional engineer?

A professional engineer is like a tailor - if you find a good one, he'll give you exactly what you're looking for. RadioReady.io is more like browsing a fashion collection and finding something that suits your taste at an affordable price (and it's free!).

I do not like the masters of RadioReady.io. They sound too...

Like any human audio engineer, RadioReady.io has its own signature sound. If that's not what you're looking for, there are plenty of other services to choose from.

What are the settings?

There are two settings: the first is perfect for almost all material (speech, music, or effects) and produces a mastered file that's dense, balanced, resonance-free, and optimized for loudness. In some rare cases however, you might want one part of a song to stand out. Think a really loud electric guitar solo or a high flute over a dense accompaniment. In this case, the second setting might work better. Give it a try.

What about privacy?

All uploaded and generated files are automatically deleted after one hour.

Do I retain copyright?

Of course you will!
